The Plastic Jungle
1. What is the Character’s sex?
Aurora is a MTF transgendered meta-human. She has completed her transition and lives full time as a woman.
2. What is the character’s physical size?
Aurora is slender and graceful (naturally and enhanced by cyberware). She is stronger than she looks (due to cyberware). She is of medium height.
3. What is the color of the character’s hair, eyes, and skin?
Aurora usually has a light tan, but is naturally pale. Her hair is a light brown, but is usually dyed (currently it is dyed a rich auburn) and is shoulder length. She changes her hair frequently and has been known to have anything from long and flowing natural coloring to a neon-multihued Mohawk. Her eyes are a deep brown.
4. What is the character’s general appearance?
Aurora generally appears graceful and well put together. Her wardrobe ranges from nice dress clothes to punk ripped up jeans and t-shirts. She is equally comfortable going to a fancy restaurant or a rave and has the clothes to match each setting.
5. Where was the character born?
Aurora was born in Vermont to parents who were high ranking and influential members of the political elite of the UCAS government. They were extremely conservative.
6. What is the character’s age?
Aurora is 19, though, like most shadowrunners, she has done a lot of living that short amount of time.
7. What was the character’s family?
Flit, born James Andrews, is the offspring of Keith and Elizabeth Andrews. James’ parents are ultra-conservative politicians working on the staff of the Governor of Vermont in the UCAS. From an early age James knew that she was born the wrong gender, and she was punished often by her father for engaging in activities he didn’t feel were moral (wearing makeup or dressing in women’s clothes or even playing with dolls as a small child).
8. Has the character begun his own family?
Aurora is single. She is Omni-sexual and will have brief relationships with men or women of any meta-type, but her relationships tend to be mostly physical and short lived.
9. Where or how was the character educated?
Flit attended some of the best private schools in Vermont while growing up. She had good grades, but was a bit of a social outcast due to her upbringing and the identity struggles being trans generated. Flit was disowned by her parents before attending college and she doesn’t have an advanced degree. She loves to read and is great at soaking up new knowledge.
10. Has the character ever done anything else for a living?
Flit worked for a short period as an HVAC specialist, machine and auto mechanic, and a park ranger. Flit likes to take on other jobs to learn skills that she thinks will be valuable in the shadows and help her to make a living.
11. What about the character’s political and religious beliefs?
Aurora is the polar opposite of her parents politically. She is a staunch atheist and an extreme liberal. She is a proud and active member of the LGBT community as well as meta-human rights organizations. She helps her friend Enid Lee with her meta-human rights work whenever possible (she also donates money from runs frequently).
12. What is the character’s moral code?
Flit believes in hitting first and hitting hardest. She can be ruthless and vindictive and believes that revenge is a dish best served cold and is usually willing to bide her time. Her lack of aversion to comes from being tossed on the streets by her parents. The early days were not pleasant. She was robbed, beaten, and sexually assaulted on more than one occasion. After meeting Enid Lee and agreeing to travel to the west coast with her the journey across the country was grueling. Aurora learned to fight (and found she had a natural talent for it).
However, at her core Aurora is a kind person. She has a thing for the underdog and will try to help those who are weak. She believes strongly in the concept of equality and justice (her own form of justice anyway…)
13. Does the character have any goals?
Long term planning isn’t something that Aurora focuses on. Except for her plans for revenge. Revenge is something that she often falls asleep thinking about. Ultimately, she wants to destroy her parents. Death is too good for them. Aurora wants to ruin them. They need to be desolate, broke, and living on the streets by the time she is done with them.
Aurora also wants to make the world a better place for the dis-enfranchised. A sentiment she picked up from Enid Lee. While Enid believes in democracy and enacting change at a societal level, Flit believes that change starts at a personal level….mostly in the form of: if the person won’t change…kill em.
14. Why does the character run the shadows?
Aurora found out she had a knack for violence and mayhem. She took to running the shadows as a way of financing her transition. Now she runs for the money and the freedom the shadows offer.
15. What is the character’s personality?
Flit is an introvert, although she loves a good party, and She can party with the best of them but she also will disappear for weeks on end to be by herself. She loves nature as much as the city and will often take extended camping trips. She is vindictive towards those who wrong her (or those she cares about) and is often planning or taking revenge (or justice as she views it) on those who are unfortunate enough to find themselves on her shit list.
16. What special qualities does the character possess?
Flit loves learning and experiencing new things. She got her street name because she likes to flit from subject to subject (not only in the sense of activities but people also). She is good at planning runs and improvising when plans fall through.
17. Are there certain tings the character just cannot do?
Flit is not good at forgiveness. She also struggles to form close attachments to people. Enid Lee is her closest friend and knows her the best. Her romantic relationships are usually short because Flit tends to keep people at arms length.
18. What does the character hate?
Flit HATES injustice, at least as she sees it. She defines injustice as the strong preying on the weak. So this hate is often directed at politicians, corps, gangs, etc. Flit also hates her parents.
19. What does the character love?
Flit loves learning, exploring, and trying new things. She loves to travel and experience new cultures. She respects the arts and the finer things as much as a great rock concert.
